Have you ever felt like you were a puppet on a string? Well, I have. Let me share with you my four puppeteers: Elianna, Asher, Judah, and Abiel! The past few days I have felt a growing tension in my parenting. I've been more snappy and generally more impatient. So today as I was praying about it, I realized it is because I feel like I'm being controlled by four little people! AHHHHHH. Problem found, solution needed.
We sat down to lunch and the word picture came rolling off my tongue.
"Kids, I feel like I'm your puppet and each of you has a string attached to one of my limbs. Asher, when you do ____, my arm goes flying. Judah, when you do ____, my other arm goes flying. Abiel, when you do ____, my leg starts kicking, and when Ella does ____, my other leg is kicking!" As I was demonstrating and flailing about wildly, the kids were in hysterics!
"So today we are cutting the strings!" And we came up with a plan for each of the things that have had me flailing about the last couple weeks. It was so good and I think it got the point across. Thank you Jesus!
Some of you may be feeling controlled by external circumstances or people. Cut the puppeteer strings and be FREE to "Live and move and have your being in Jesus!" That's my goal this week. I want to live and move and have my being in Him alone. Acts 17:28.

Such an important lesson for a mother of 4 young children. Glad you are learning these things early rather than later. When you get to the empty nest one day, you will have no regrets. You see, when the kiddos are controling the strings, when they leave the nest, you would feel empty, like you have no purpose in life. But when God alone controls the strings, you remain with purpose in life and do not have the emptiness inside when the empty nest comes. You may miss those kiddos a lot, but you still have a passion for life and ministry. Keep listening to the Holy Spirit and you will have no regrets later in life. Blessings, Chari
