This post is to give great glory to my God and my Love, Jesus!! I don't really even know how to record these amazing, miraculous provisions within the last week, but here goes.
So God told us to give our truck away. And in doing so, He told me that if I meet the needs that Laurie comes to me with, He will give me all I ask for and need. (Yes, I know he will meet my needs even if I don't give hilariously to Laurie, but I know what he's saying/asking. He's really testing my obedience and making it obvious to me that He will do what He says He will do.)
In giving to Laurie and James, I knew that provisions were going to be released for our family. The very day after we settled in our hearts to give the truck, an opportunity came up for Heath to go to Tennessee for a seminar that we believe will propel him into his next steps. But in the natural it looked impossible. We only had money to cover the cost of the seminar. We took a few minutes to ask God what He was thinking about the whole situation and within seconds, I KNEW God was saying that Heath was supposed to go! "Ok then, you have to get him there!"
Within 24 hours we had hotel and air miles given to Heath to get to Tennessee. We were in shock! But the cost of the seminar drained what little savings we had and he still had to rent a car and I needed gas and a few groceries until next pay check. I wrestled with a bit of fear for about a day. At one point, I half seriously said to Heath, "I wonder what I could sell." The next morning, Heath said, "Well, if faith is the currency of heaven, maybe you should just sell your faith to God!!"
WHOA! That was it! From that point on, I didn't even think about it. I KNEW it was going to be ok. Didn't know where the extra money was coming from, but I knew it would come if I really needed it. The next day (Tuesday) Heath had a dentist appointment. UGH. It was a big estimate (as was mine a week ago). Between the two of us, we need several thousand dollars worth of dental work. He wasn't sure they were being completely honest and didn't want to go into debt for our teeth after being debt free for several years. So he prayed. On the way to our Tuesday night prayer group, he prayed that God would either provide the cash for our teeth or show us what we really needed done. We are at His feet with our need again.
Within the following 24 hours we were again in great awe and shock. As we crawled into bed that night Heath said, "You'll never believe it but someone gave me $100 tonight!"
"WHAT!! That's crazy! THANK YOU, JESUS." We could make that stretch to the 15th. We were rejoicing!
The next morning I got a phone call from a friend saying that her and her husband would like to pay for ALL our dental work, no strings attached!!!!! By this time, I didn't even know how to respond and fainting sounded like a really good option! I mean really, how do you respond to such extravagant, hilarious giving? Truly, the only way to respond is to give glory to God and laugh at his extravagance!!
I called Heath and asked if he was sitting down. I shared this hilarious giving and he got really quiet for a minute. Then he asked if I was sitting down. He continued with, "As you were telling me about the dental work, someone just dropped 3 - 100 bills on my desk."
Ok, at this point you almost want to yell, "STOP GOD. THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS!" And all we could do was laugh! I'm still in shock. Heath is in Tennessee right now, lost in his rental car trying to find his hotel! A week ago, getting lost in Tennessee wasn't even supposed to be possible!!
GOD, YOU GO WAY BEYOND my need and expectation!! More than I needed and enough to share with others. But that's the next post! THANK YOU, JESUS and THANK YOU, Body of Christ for giving hilariously. We are overwhelmed by his goodness and your gracious generosity. We are learning again that we can never out give God! And it's kind of fun trying!
