God IS speaking!

Frequently Heath and I have the kids practice hearing the voice of the Holy Spirit. They are getting pretty good at it! In fact, I'm convinced kids are WAY better at it than adults. Adults typically have either too much theology or skepticism or question whether it is from God or what God is saying, while a kid doesn't usually filter his words through very many lenses. If it hits a kid's mind, it can usually come out of his mouth! And the Holy Spirit loves to speak to us, sometimes for others!
So last weekend, I had a day of rest to myself (yes, my husband is AMAZING!). Before I left, Heath had the kids listen to the Holy Spirit to see if He had anything to say to mama before she had time alone with Him. Right away Judah got a picture and some words. Then Abiel and then Heath. We always let Asher go first so his thoughts aren't influenced by what the other kids share. Asher's words can sometimes still seem WAY out there but as I prayed into his pictures for me, God had some neat things to share with me! Then Judah shared his. Only for the sake of the power of this story I will share what they were. He saw "a fountain. No a geyser spouting out water everywhere on the ground around and jewels were falling on the ground out of the water. And the words I got were, 'If you follow Me, you will come into My hands.'"
Abiel's also had to do with water. She saw golden water flowing from my head and bluebells springing up quickly casting a beautiful light everywhere. The words she heard were, "My love is in your hands."
Heath saw a pipe gushing water out continuously. It was a pipe connected to some power source or windmill.

So that was all cool and the Lord gave me some great interpretations of it as I prayed into it the next day when I was spending time with Him. But the CRAZIEST part is what comes next! At our Tuesday night prayer meetings, we are always asking the Holy Spirit to speak to us in any way He wants, Scripture, worship, teaching, words, pictures, etc. That night, one of our friends got a picture for me but he didn't share it with me until a couple days later over email. Here is what he saw for me:

As for the picture I got for you Tuesday night, you were standing in the middle of the room, and you turned into a fountain, but instead of the water shooting out of you and back into a basin to be recycled, it was raining down on us and the floor, your supply was without end (The Holy Spirit) and then (this is where I’m going to take a little rabbit trail to explain-if you drive up to camp nelson, there is a spot on the side of the road where a pipe comes out of some rocks, and water is always pouring out of it, it never slows or diminishes, and it has been there as long as I can remember for people to stop and refresh themselves) you turned into a pipe with water flowing out of it, like the camp nelson pipe. Anyway that was the picture I had for you.

Needless to say, all of us involved were really excited and I knew God was trying to get my attention. I share this story with you to encourage you to be listening for the MANY ways the Holy Spirit is speaking to you. It may seem strange or insignificant but it may really be the God of the Universe!! I share this story for those who are hoping that the God of the Universe still speaks presently. God is personal, intimate and LOVES to communicate! Start training your ears to hear his voice. He is the God who is speaking to us today.

Wow Em, that's beautiful. I love that you guys are teaching your kids so young about the freedom in His spirit. I never learned that until I became an adult and am still daily learning more about it. I can't wait to teach our children how to hear His voice more clearly. . . I'd love any advice you have on how to do that. =) Love you 6!!!
