Worrier or Warrior?

I love how kids hear what we say! This morning, I noticed Asher was worrying about some things. I took him in my lap and we had a nice long chat about the worry monster and how it can slime us if we let it. It ended up backfiring because of his extremely overactive imagination!! I got rid of his worry by scaring him half to death with the worry monster!!! AHHHH. Will I ever get it right?!

So now, instead of trying to help him overcome his worry, I had the issue of getting rid of the worry monster!! As I was praying about how to get out of this mess, I said, "Well, bottom line, Jesus is our warrior and all we have to do is ask him to come help us."

Asher responded in a quizzical voice, "You mean Jesus worries all the time?"

"No, I didn't say that."

"Well, you said Jesus is our 'worrier!'"

"No, no, no! I said Jesus is our WARRIOR! He will fight for us, whether it's fighting our worry or fighting our fear! We just need to call on Him to help us!"

So today, don't be a worrier! Be a Warrior! And if that sounds too difficult for you, let Jesus be the Warrior for you!
