Tomorrow my little Asher man turns 5! Right before bed, he comes up to me with a gold, paper crown on his head, resting on his ears in the way that makes them stick out a little bit. He flashes me a "missing one front tooth" grin and says, "Tomorrow I'm going to HATCH! I'm not hatched yet, but TOMORROW I'll be hatched!"
Me: "Really? What does hatching mean?"
Asher: "Well, it means that when I turn five, I'm going to hatch out of my egg and become a BEAST!"
Me: "Really? Well, I'm excited for you to hatch tomorrow!"
Asher: "I've already started to hatch! My legs and arms are hatching out! Tomorrow I'll come all the way out!"
Me: "Oh good. Now get in bed so you can wake up and hatch!"
I have no idea where that imagination comes from but let me tell you, he is never lacking for a new imaginative idea!! Happy fifth birthday to my third child!
