Recieving In Order to Give

Today I was at the store getting a few groceries. Aaannnnddd, I locked my keys in the car. NOT a fun way to start my time without Heath. But I decided I wasn't going to get flustered. Instead, I just prayed and asked God if there was someone I was supposed to connect with while I was waiting for my car to get unlocked! Sure enough, there was a divine appointment. Charles.
As I was paying the slim jim guy, I noticed this older gentleman with a rag and squirt bottle going through the parking lot, asking people if he could wash their car windows for a small fee. I locked my keys in the car in order to meet Charles. I was given excess in the last 48 hours in order to give to others. I offered the four dollars cash I had in my pocket, asked if he could use it, and told him I was sorry it wasn't more. He was very humble and polite and told me he was making rent and just needed a bit more to get by for the month. He was out doing what he could. I asked him how much more he needed at the moment. He was a bit nervous and took some time to think about it before answering, "I think I could make it with $10 extra." I shook his hand and told him I'd be back in a few minutes.
I knew he probably needed more than ten bucks, but how do you tell a stranger you need more. How much should have he presumed upon me for? He could've said $50 or $200, but he said $10. And it was my joy to give him more than he asked for! I was thrilled to hand him more than he was expecting. It was my joy and pleasure to know he was going to be thankful and shocked at the amount he received in comparison with the amount he asked for.
It was then I knew that God LOVES giving us more than we ask for and even more than we need! We tell him we can get by with this or that and he hands us THIS and THAT!!! Go God! Pour out the store houses of your extravagant love and provision on our physical, emotional, spiritual and financial needs! YOU are a GENEROUS and GRACIOUS and GOOD God! And it is YOUR JOY AND PLEASURE knowing we will be thankful and shocked at the amount we receive in comparison with the amount we are asking for.
Ephesians 3:20-21
Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. Glory to him in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever! Amen.

WOWW---I absolutely loved hearing these stories and what the Lord is teaching you. This is exactly what I needed to hear right now- just yesterday and today I have been feeling tension/guilt/anxiety/etc. over financial things and just the concept of having everything I need. Thank you so much for this reminder! Love you
