I just want to say that I made my best turkey yet for our 2009 Thanksgiving feast! I will never cook a turkey without brining it again. The night before, I made a brine solution of water, soy sauce, maple syrup, brown sugar, sage, garlic, salt and bay leaves. I cooked the 15 lb bird, breast down, for 4 1/2 hours, decreasing the heat in increments. The result? FABULOUS, SUCCULENT, EXQUISITE turkey! If you want the specific brining solution, let me know. You'll never look back again!
As for the day itself, it too was FABULOUS. We had a total of 18 people at our feast and the atmosphere was warm, loving and fun. Abiel and I did a lot of the prep the day before so all day yesterday, I felt so much peace and joy, I knew it was supernatural! We got to pray for some people, love on some people, and mostly, share the joy of the Lord with everyone. Jesus, we are thankful that you are the same yesterday, today and forever!
